You guys, I’ve been following the One Room Challenge from the start and each season I think to myself … what I could do in six weeks! Ha! It’s like watching football from the sidelines. Well…seven weeks has come and gone and I’m still not finished!
However, I’m pretty stoked about how far I’ve come. I still have details to iron out and some additions to make, but I figure the best spaces come together over time anyway.
This vanity is a huge improvement over the disintegrating vanity that once lined this wall. It’s actually a dresser and all the drawers are useable thanks to a very kind and considerate plumber who fit the pipes between the drawers. Thanks Glen!
The dresser is 51″ wide so it’s just big enough for two sinks.
I’d like to have a piece of stone cut for the top of the vanity at some point. The faucets and the lights came from amazon here and here. The faucets are so reasonably priced I accidentally ordered an extra and I plan to keep it just in case I need extra parts or something.
This was at about 6am this morning. Nothing like a deadline to get things done.
I’m not sure about the color of the outside of the tub, it may change at some point.
My bathtub still needs to be refinished on the inside. It’ll be an easy task, I just ran out of time. Also, you’ll notice the fittings that connect the faucet to the water lines are not brass like the faucet. They allow a wider faucet to be connected to narrow holes in the tub. Well , brass is on back order so that’s still on the to do list. I ordered this piece of art from Minted.com. It’s called Mother Embrace and the artist is Kate Ahn. I absolutely love it and linked it here. I ordered the unframed print only, hoping to find a great deal on a frame. Of course I waited until the last minute as usual and had to take what I could get. I still got a really great deal on this frame from Target for only $56, but then I had to take it all apart to replace the print. Next time I order from Minted I will definitely pay for the frame as well. It’s well worth the extra money to save the time and hassle of frame shopping and assembling.
This bathroom is super hard to photograph because it’s only 8′ x 8′ . I widened the pocket door from a 24″ door to a 30″ door. It makes the room feel more spacious.
The shower curtains I made myself, but I bought an extra long fabric shower curtain liner from amazon here. I still need to install those. I love floor to ceiling shower curtains. I think it really shapes the space and feels so custom and upgraded. Curtains are super easy to make and can even be done with a no-sew method. I’ll make a tutorial soon.
I have accessories to buy and styling to do, but I’m super excited about the new bathroom and the foundation I’ve created for this space. I’ll keep you posted on the updates as I go.

Now I must clean up the aftermath and prepare for Thanksgiving! Giddy-up!
